Tax Time Conflicts

Posted on the 21 January 2013 by Missliabilities
In some professions and schools in the US this day is considered a holiday. Not in public accounting, of course. I'll add Martin Luther King day to the long list of other days in my life I don't have off.
-My birthday (March, yeah right)
-Easter if it falls before April 15th
-Any day between February 1 and April 15
-Emancipation day even though the IRS gets off
-Any day between August 15 and October 15
-Labor day
-M's birthday
I feel like a half-doctor with long hours for 6 months of the year! My coworkers were having a chat how inconvenient it is to have big events in these awful time zones of tax season. For people who mistakenly got married before going into taxes - early September anniversaries get the back seat. Don't even think about having a baby before corporation deadlines - my friend scheduled it for right after.
I think I have a great date for my hypothetical wedding that doesn't interfere with taxes... December 27 so we are guaranteed to have M at home (during med school) and my family who live in Texas and go to school will be on winter vacation. Oh and I forget that I also have grad school conflicts to worry about now :).
So happy MLK day to you all!
