I had my first teeth whitening about a year ago after the removal of my braces. I naturally have yellow teeth. I know some of my friends who are blessed with white, sparkling set of nice teeth. I had a classmate when I was in high school, his teeth are perfect! They are like... hmm size of a corn kernel. I can't think of a better way to describe it but yeah, hope I'm making sense.
Anyway, so I had my 2nd teeth whitening treatment, this time at Shinagawa Orthodontics & Aesthetic Dentistry main clinic in Enterprise Makati. TIP: If you're sensitive to pain, I recommend taking any pain killer an hour before the procedure. Advil or Medicol, either works for me.
1. Consultation / check-up. My dentist for today, Doc Darwin Dela Peña is very informative and gentle. He checked for teeth with signs for abrasion as these are most sensitive and may need added treatment before teeth whitening procedure. Good thing my teeth are okay.
2. Teeth Cleaning. Before the whitening procedure, your teeth must be totally clean. I was about to have my 2nd (I do it twice a year, every 6 months) dental prophylaxis about a week ago but something came up so yeah, got it done for free! *lucky you Gen-zel! haha*
3. I'm not sure about the term for this one but it's merely blocking corners so the solution will not leak. He put cotton pads around my mouth.
4. They put protection for my gums. Not sure what it's called but it's like a thick liquid that hardens after a while so the whitening solution will not get inside your gums, or else it'll be really painful.
5. Application of whitening solution.
6. The magical led light. Whitening Solution + Led light = whiter teeth.
This is good for 15 minutes. Then after that is another round of whitening solution + led light (another 15 minutes). Normally, it will take you 45 minutes for 3 rounds of 15 minutes. However when I was on my 2nd phase, it was already really painful so we had to stop. Well, most patients are actually okay after the 2nd round of whitening. Very few go for the 3rd or last phase, that's another whitening solution application + led light for 15 minutes. I'm already satisfied with the results so I'm okay. If I can only bear the pain for another round, I will but my teeth are already tingling so hard. My teeth will be super white if I finished up to the last phase for sure!
After the treatment, the dentist will explain everything including what you can and can't eat for 24 hours and for 2 months.
TIP/s:1. Eat only white food within 24 hours. It's like the outer layer of your teeth were scraped so you don't want to stain it with any colored food especially orange or yellow ones.
2. You can go for white meat of fried chicken or fish. I ate buko juice and nata de coco then water for drinks during the first 24 hours.
3. Avoid tea or coffee, or any food that will surely stain your teeth for about two months or longer if you can so you can maintain your bright smile.
4. You can have teeth whitening treatment again after a year.

This was taken a day before, it's actually whiter right after the treatment. I'm so happy with the results and this is the whitest of my teeth ever! My only problem is maintenance since I'm a tea and coffee drinker so I guess I'll do this again next year. 🙂 This treatment is for only P10,999.00 (promo until October 31).
