Not long after that I was introduced to Grease.....my little mind was blown and I remember dressing up in my mums black satin leggings and backcombing my hair before strutting around the living room to "You're the one I want"....acting out Sandy's lines while my poor Dad did what he was told and acted the part of Danny! (Weird?!)
Musical movies are a love I have never quite grown out of......there's certainly never been a year of my life that's passed without me watching both of those favorite movies, and there are so many others favourites I've acquired over the years.
Much to my joy, recent years have seen a comeback for the good old musical and this month I have been making my way through an array of them on Netflix!
Here is my countdown of what I think are the Top 5 Musical Movies on Netflix....
1. Enchanted
Ok so it's more Disney film than musical but there are plenty of songs throughout it and I love them all!!!! Amy Adams is one of my favorite current actresses, and I just love everything about this feel good movie! My nieces recently watched it when they came to visit and it is the quietest they have ever been....they were engrossed!
2. The Katy Perry Movie
I'm a fan of Katy Perry anyway so I was bound to enjoy this, and it didn't disappoint....quirky and kitsch and lots of fun!
3. Dreamgirls
Starring Beyonce and the amazing Jennifer Hudson, this sassy 60's based movie is the perfect way to spend an evening.
4. Burlesque
Cher & Christina Aguilera in one movie.....what's not to love?!
5. Hello Dolly!
When you're in the mood for a proper old school musical, this Barbara Streisand classic is perfection!
