The Blame Game : #MeToo / #MenToo

Posted on the 30 May 2019 by Jyoti Arora @Jy0tiAr0ra

When it comes to gender crimes, we have the widespread problem of crimes against women. However, there's an opposite side of this issue. The side where fake cases are filed against men. Both these crimes see victims being blamed for the pain inflicted on them. Both these crimes ruin lives, families, cause trauma.

So, when it comes to gender crime, when it comes to the battle between #MeToo and #MenToo, who is more to blame?

Well, as I ask this question, I'm reminded of a famous song that says 'Jahan Ram abhi tak hai nar mein, nari mein abhi tak Sita hai. ' It seems to me this no longer holds true for India.

When I released my second novel LEMON GIRL, it was a protest against women abuse and victim blaming. But then, thanks to so called 'anti-feminist' on Twitter, I got to see the opposite side of the issue. I got to see the problem of fake cases filed by women. That is what gave birth to my third novel YOU CAME LIKE HOPE.

Both these novels use beautiful love stories to entertain readers while they challenge their prejudices and force them to think. As these two books show two opposing sides of the same problem, I've now combined them in a 2-in1 book set titled THE BLAME GAME

The Blame Game : #MeToo / #MenTooThe Blame Game : #MeToo / #MenToo

This 2-in-1 set contains two heart-warming, entertaining, and thought-provoking novels by Jyoti Arora. The first book Lemon Girl is included in ezvid.com wiki list of 9 Well-Written Novels That Put Women Front & Center. The second novel You Came Like Hope too has received much appreciation for its unique theme and heart-warming love story.

These two novels tell different and unrelated stories. Yet, these stories depict two opposing sides of the same social issue. The issue of victim blaming. Together, these two stories show two different victims being blamed for the crimes committed on them. One side of the issue is discussed widely, but the other gets ignored and even ridiculed. This box set seeks to show that gender crime is not one sided and that a victim is a victim, no matter what their gender.
