The Boston BombingsPlease note, this is a developing story and over time the facts will change. We do our best to provide the most up to date and accurate information to our viewers. If something is outdated or incorrect please contact us and expect changes as frequently as possible.

There is so much information coming out of Boston right now that if you sit down and sift through it like I have been doing for the past day now you start to develop a Boston accent.  There are videos of the explosions, hours and hours of news footage, press conferences with everyone from the Chief of Police to the President himself, and overall the scope of this tragedy is absolutely astounding.  Although statements continue to be amended and there is constantly new information coming out from around the city, we can be sure of some things so far.

An explosion went off near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, and minutes later a second explosion occurred roughly a block away.  So far 3 people have died from injuries sustained in the blast, one of which was an 8 year old child.  Depending on the source, there are anywhere from two dozen to over 100 people that have been injured, but regardless of the number the local emergency departments were full of the victims.  Scattered reports seemed to indicate that another device was located that had not exploded, and there were reports of some type of explosion or fire at the JFK Library.  As of right now the FBI, ATF, along with local police and international terror experts are on the scene investigating, but there have been no suspects named.

Let me clarify a few things for people, however, that seemed to be a topic of debate around the internet.  First of all, I caught flack for calling this a terrorist act when I first released the story.  The truth is, and the President confirmed this today in a press conference, that any time a bomb is used to harm civilians there is no question that this is an act of terror, whether it originated from domestic or foreign sources, it is still an act of terror, and whoever is responsible for this will be treated just as every other terrorist.  The bombs were made of pressure cookers packed with explosives, ball bearings and nails, which is a common bomb recipe for people trying to inflict severe harm on a crowd.
