The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Final Official Trailer

Posted on the 29 October 2013 by Cposion

Yes you read that right! The second installment to the mega-hit The Hunger Games is ready to drop bombs on our cinemas this coming November. Seeing this final trailer has just set the excitement to full level. If I may quote Cesar Flickerman on the first movie, it made my heart stop. I can't help but be excited because 2011 was two years ago and I've seen enough reruns of the first movie that I've memorized it already so....
The PlotYou Hunger Games nerds I know you know the story by heart but for the benefit of those who have not read the book, here is the plot Catching Fire.
*spoiler alert*
Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark return home to District 12 as the Victors of the recently concluded 74th Annual Hunger Games. However, what seemed to be the end of their ordeal was in fact just the beginning when President Snow visits Katniss and lets her know that he is angry over her act of breaking the law at the end of the last Hunger Games which permitted both of them to win. Her defiance against the Capitol has inspired rebellion throughout Panem.
Meanwhile, the "Victory Tour" commences and their first stop is District 11, home of Rue, who became Katniss' friend and ally in the arena. She witnesses firsthand that the other District has "caught fire" with the rebellion and the Capitol has failed in subduing it.

This year's Hunger Games is also set have it's surprises. It is announced that, for the 75th Hunger Games, 24 victors from previous years will be forced to compete once again. This is the third occurrence of the "Quarter Quell": an event that occurs every 25th year of the Games and allows the Capitol to introduce a twist. Knowing that she and Peeta will both be competing in the Games a second time, Katniss decides that she will devote herself to ensuring that Peeta becomes the Quarter Quell's victor. However, Peeta is devoted to protecting her. At the challenge of President Snow, Katniss and Peeta also have to keep up appearances as the star-crossed lovers that they portrayed in the Arena.

So what happens when 24 Victors come back the Arena once again to battle it out as the Victor of all Victors? It's a sure shot mayhem and it's gonna be full of surprises. November 22 will give us all the answers. :)Things to Look Out ForReading the book, I've already envisioned a lot of stuff in my mind that I would like to see in the movie. So, in no particular order, here they are:The Arena...is said to be set in a jungle and saltwater lake. And it's gonna be round, like a clock with 12 hours and for each "hour" will be a different challenge for the Tribute Victors.

The Fashion, Makeup and Whole Look..which we've had a taste of in the previous movie. The "Girl on Fire" thing was so well executed and this time I expect it to be the same. The single most important thing would be the transformation from the white gown to the mockingjay outfit.Yes. that one right there.

And lastly, the Story Adaptation.Every book is beautiful in itself already but we cannot except to see every scene transformed into a movie. It will be the Screenwriter's job and well see if all the major highlights will be included.

So let's show some love for Catching Fire on November. Remember who the enemy is. Is that a parting message? *LOL* But this movie is sick, totally sick. Imagine a society that feeds on carnage. Dressing up some poor tribute and turning them Cinderellas into rockstars and pitting all 24 of them against each other in the fight to the deaths. How's that Big Brother or Survivor for a reality show?
Anyway, I'm signing out. XO.
Carissa :)
