The Mission | Part 2

Posted on the 15 May 2014 by Bren Lee @JustBrenLee

“I’m so sorry Duane. I just can’t do these missions anymore! My gut is telling me it’s time to get out before it’s too late! We have spent over 15 years together and well, I know you feel it too! You just never wanted to cross that boss/employee line, right?”

Duane raises his hands to my face and pulls me closer to him. He kissed me so gently. “Brit, are you sure you want out? I mean, I would hate to see you leave your career for me although I’m truly honored.”

Feeling horrible now that I poured out my heart to Duane and not really getting the response I wanted “Yes, Duane. It’s time for me to leave regardless if there is a future for us or not.”

The Mission | Part 2

“You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to tell you how much I care about you. How many nights that I lied in bed worrying about you while on a mission and praying no harm would come your way. Then there were nights that I lied in my bed at night wondering if you felt the same about me. Wanting to sneak into your bedroom and just take you into my arms and make love to you.”

Shocked by his statement, I could no longer resist. He looked so vulnerable as he opened his heart to me. I had to have him! I leaned in closer and kissed him. Not just any kiss, but a very passionate kiss. I leaned forward to push my entire body upon him. I wanted him and by his actions he wanted me.

He slowly started undressing me “Brit, I have waited so long for this.” He gently began kissing my neck and pulling me tighter against him.

I couldn’t wait to feel him against my skin; his body against mine; oh how I needed him! I decided to take charge. I began unbuttoning his shirt. I’ve seen him in a bathing suit so I knew how gorgeous his body was. Throwing his shirt off onto the floor and moving my hands lower to his pants, I unbuttoned one button after the other. Buttonfly pants are so horrible when you want action now!

Just as I was about to slide his pants down and expose his manhood, I heard the door open to the mansion.

“Crap! That must be Thad and Marcus!”

Quickly we got dressed and tried to pull ourselves together. It appeared maybe the boys had a little too much to drink because they were talking pretty loud and being a tad obnoxious.

“You guys are still in here?” says Thad loudly.

“Looks like we missed a little party, eh?

Sometimes Marcus was such an ass. “We were just discussing me leaving the organization. I just feel it’s time that I get out while I still can.”

“What? Are you fucking serious? Leave the Organization? That’s not even something to joke about Brit!”

Thad always had a way with words. “Seriously Thad. I’ve been having some really bad dreams and I’m just worried about going on the next mission. I feel my dreams are trying to warn me about something bad that’s to come. I don’t want it to happen. I still have so much of my life to live!”

“Typical girl bullshit I say. What? Are you menopausal or something? Don’t like working with Thad and me anymore?”

“It’s not a girl thing Marcus. Honestly, I fear the next mission and I just can’t go. You boys will have to do it alone. I know you’ll manage just fine. Maybe Duane can find a third to go with you? Duane?

“I can make a few calls because we truly need a woman on this mission, as you all know; you’ve been briefed on it. The bad thing is Marcus and Thad are leaving in the morning. I don’t think I can get someone on such short notice but let me make a few phone calls. I’ll be back in a few.”

Duane left the room to go make a few calls and see if he could find a substitute. I guess that was a good sign that he was going to let me out. Now to see if we will be able to pursue a relationship of the romantic kind or not.

“I still call bullshit! What the fuck Brit? You trying to settle down or something?

“You know I love you boys Marcus, even despite the way you treat me. Other than the nightmares I’ve been having, there is a gentleman I’m interested in.”

“I knew it! It’s always about a dude!” Thad is really starting to pluck my nerves.

“Regardless of my reasons, y’all will just have to accept it and deal with it. Duane has agreed to allow me to leave the organization and I’m forever grateful to him for it.”

“And how grateful would that be?”

“None of your business Marcus, or yours Thad! Don’t you boys have to get ready for the mission? Do you have all your stuff ready?”

“Don’t you worry your quitter little head over it princess. We always have our A-game on! We don’t need you or any other woman!”

“Y’all are sounding like a bunch of baby boys now that aren’t getting your way. Just suck it up boys. Duane will come through for you and maybe you might even like this one.”

Duane came back into the room with a file. “I’ve got one! She’ll be here in the a.m. to leave with you, Thad and Marcus. She’s currently being briefed on the mission.”

“Just great Duane, thanks for giving us another damsel in distress?”

“Pipe down Marcus. You and Thad better be on your best behavior. Ms. Clara Barnes is coming straight from the Seals. I think you might have met your match.”

“Now I can see it” says Thad “A bitch on steroids. This ought to be a fun mission.”

“Thad, are you ready to leave in the morning? Don’t you and Marcus have some drinks to sleep off?”

“Yea yea, we got ya. Catch ya in the a.m.”

“Good night princess” says Thad.

As the boys walk out of the room, I look at Duane and decide, tonight really isn’t the night to get romantically involved.

“I think I’m going to turn in myself Duane. It’s been a long night and I’m really tired. Thank you again for allowing me to leave the Organization. I’m assuming we’ll go over paperwork in the morning?”

“Paperwork as well as discuss some other things such as your room, vehicle, and other benefits. Sweet dreams Brit.”

He gave me a sweet, innocent kiss on the cheek that I felt all the way to my toes. “Tomorrow will be an interesting day” I thought to myself. “The first day of many wonderful days to come I hope.”

“Good night Duane.”
