The Veroc Saga Project Journal Entry #2

Greetings and Salutations, again, so soon,
Have you all experienced the sensation of going through your old things and memories and emotions come flooding back? Well if you have then you'll know what I'm talking about. I made mention in #1.5 that I was going through notes and working on an outline. Well, my materials on one of my other characters within the Veroc Saga just set me on fire. So I churned and burned a lot of writing in a comparatively short amount of time (taking into account that 25% of the actual words are recycled from aforementioned notes, and I knew where I was going). So, instead of sleep, I give you magical words... that detour from my finishing Chapter 1 for your reading pleasure (if it makes you feel better, the two chapters do not directly follow each other in the strictest sense).
One thing that you might notice is my "thought documentation" changed up a little. For Meryl, I italicized her thoughts from first person perspective, but with Cyrus I continued in third person close. Comments on preference?
