This is an Empowering, Creative & Sacred Day After Thanksgiving - Labyrinth & Light

This morning I sneaked out of the rental house in Morro Bay in order to do some prayer walk-meditation at a labyrinth I had never visited. It is like a treasure hunt, trying to find these sacred spaces.

After one dead end and from directions from a couple women who thought I was more than slightly hopeless, I was nothing short of awed of the space that surrounded me.

The sunlight hitting the soil and the rocks took my breath away. This is the space where we enter the labyrinth. To pray. To meditate. To listen. I took this after my prayer walk. Looking East, ethereal. I took this after my prayer walk. Looking East, ethereal.

I meant to bring my sketch book. I was determinded to do a drawing for Art Every Day Month. I could have spent a lot of time guilting myself for somehow not sliding my sketch book into my bag, but instead I determined I could take photos and sketch later.

The experience was what was more important.

I was being ultimately creative and artistic as well as having a sacred experience which prepared me to continue to have a time with my family that would be memorable and not at all cranky.

(This is so important!)  A few more photos:

Love the fog rolling along the shoreline. Boards, serene. Gorgeous. Love the fog rolling along the shoreline. Boards, serene. Gorgeous.

Hello Los Osos Sunrise! I took this (yes, I pulled over first!) especially with my friend, Michelle, in mind and heart. Hello Los Osos Sunrise! I took this (yes, I pulled over first!) especially with my friend, Michelle, in mind and heart.

Before I took my walk, I sat on a bench under an stately beachy pine tree. (That isn't the scientific name, I know!) It is such a serene spot. I look forward even now to returning! This has been such a Julie-esque "black" (why do we call it that?) day after Thanksgiving Friday. Creative, artsy, spiritual and feeling absolutely high without any chemical intervention.

Welcome to this perfect day!
