I see it entirely too often...I just feel so sad, but don't know what to do...Why is it so widespread? I'm talking about the deer we see on the sides of the highway nearly every day. What is going on? I often comment to co-workers about seeing a dead or struggling deer on the roads going to work. It seems like everyone feels bad but doesn't really know what to do about it.
Then of course, there are those who deer hunt and that is entirely another topic for another day...But, all in all, it seems deer don't fall very high on the food chain these days. Even though they don't, I want it to stop. We have to let the deer have a habitat of their own. There's just no place for them to live and thrive anymore.
There are organizations out there for the animals, and the deer are brought up occasionally. Let's make it a point to honor these beautiful animals in our own ways. If we can't find enough of support let's try to do things that will preserve their lives. Some of these things may be not eating deer, not hunting, and driving slower on the highways.
How many times in one week have you seen a dead deer on the side of the road? Do you get tired of it? Does it make you sick? How about the deer that are left there for days. Why are they not tended to? Maybe it's time to write to the animal organizations about this problem. It's getting out of hand.
Did you ever see a white deer? They are so rare and beautiful. Why would you want to kill something so pure and innocent?
I'm attaching an additional link to this posting that I'm hoping will steer everyone in the right direction in regards to this deer problem.
Avoiding Deer: Tips

There is power in numbers. This may be a good opportunity for single people to get involved, volunteer and try to bring the problem to light.
Let's consider all of the animals we may come across on the roads...drive safely!
