Topping Up My Thank You Tank With Gratitude

Posted on the 26 March 2015 by Vidyasury @vidyasury

I almost feel like writing some lyrics to go with that post title!

It is the last Thursday of the month and you know what that means!

The Gratitude Circle blog hop!

So please join Corinne of Everyday Gyaan and me on our Gratitude journey.

Write your gratitude post, talking about what you are especially grateful for at this time, and link your post to the linky below. And don't forget to grab the badge I lovingly sketched for this wonderful activity. Yep - it makes me so happy!

Topping Up My Thank You Tank With Gratitude
It goes without saying that my Gratitude list will always include you, my family, my friends and all the people I am privileged to interact with.

And, I am topping up my thank you tank with...

Gratitude for my

...Refrigerator

As the weather's getting hotter, I can't help hugging my refrigerator for keeping us cool. I'd hug my ceiling fans too, but they're too high up. So I just caress them with a duster and say thanks!

...Postwoman

She comes home and picks up my outgoing letters saving me a trip to the post office. One day, when she and I were chatting, I happened to mention I have to go to the post office and she said, why go to the PO when the PO comes to you? Ah! Gratitude for her kindness as we'll have quite a few letters to send over the next three months, what with the admission process!

...Home delivery

The bliss of having groceries and veggies home delivered is wonderful. Since I know the people who deliver it, it also means getting together over a coffee - and exchanging life-notes. Absolute win-win, I tell you!

...Water

As several parts of our country suffers from low water supply especially during summer, I am deeply grateful for running water which means we can shower every day and have plenty of drinking water. I've been on both sides, and feel grateful to be in a good place today.

There used to be a time when we only had an hour of water supply at 2 am in the morning. My Mom and I would set the alarm and wake up at 1.45 am, and wait to hear the trickle into the empty bucket. As the force of the flow picked up, we'd go into a frenzy, washing clothes, clearing up the kitchen sink, watering plants, sometimes even mopping the house - all from 2 to 3 am in the morning. I am not sure if I have the stamina now, and I can only say thanks for not having to do it.

...Instagram

I finally figure out how that works and can't wait to go crazy posting photos. I do wish my phone was compatible with the app - but no. I have to use it via my tab and that's a heavy little baby to carry around. Still. Grateful to step into the world of Instagram. What fun it is to see photos - total mini-vacation!

...Coffee

Ah, always the coffee.
Early morning sun - cool breeze, coffee.
Mid morning, under the fan, coffee break
Afternoon at 5, coffee before my walk
Heaven is the smell of freshly ground coffee.

...Walks

It is particularly lovely in the evenings these days and I enjoy walking on my terrace with my son, talking, musing on everything we can think about and also cleverly trying to get ideas for my A to Z Challenge posts. It is great what fresh air, the setting sun and the sound of birds can do to the psyche! I am thankful for that.

...Blogging

This month, I started participating in the Friday Reflections blog hop hosted by Janine and Mackenzie and am loving it. Did you visit my guest post at Janine's blog, Embracing my health challenge? Thanks!

...Gratitude buddies

We have made it a ritual at home to list three things we're grateful for before we go to sleep. We sleep at different times at home depending on what we're up to - and my son is the first to go sleep. As we pray together, we wrap up the day by sharing our gratitude list. It is a great feeling as we smile and bid each other a good, peaceful night.

What are you grateful for?
