…Turn the Page

Now that the summer is firmly in the rear view mirror it's time to actually get through that summer reading list. You know, that pile of books you planned to get through over vacation.

No judgement, just a friendly reminder that those books aren't going to read themselves. Besides, autumn reading lists should really be a thing. So, in a way your actually a trendsetter not a procrastinator.

Of course, that does mean you'll actually have to start reading...

If you can't seem to remember what those books you mean to read were/are, here are a few cinematic suggestions to provide inspiration and a little motivation. After all, you should really read them before you see the movie.

"Crazy Rich Asians" by Kevin Kwan - Yes, that's right, it was a book first. And don't worry if you saw the movie already, it's part of a trilogy. So, you can get started on "China Rich Girlfriend" before "Crazy Rich Asians 2" hits theaters.

"The Girl in the Spider's Web" by David Lagercrantz - There's been much ado about the casting change with Claire Foy taking over for Rooney Mara as Lisbeth. But if Bond can recast every few films, I think we can handle this. Plus, in the book, you can have anyone you want play Lisbeth.

"My Heart Is My Own: The Life of Mary Queen of Scots" by John Guy - If you're in the mood for something a little more historical, this biography has inspired the upcoming film "Queen of Scots." If you don't know who that is...we don't have time to discuss the history of male bias in, well, history. Just read the book. Seriously.
