This What to Watch Wednesday we’re taking a look at television and the graphic novels that inspired one of the most watched series on cable TV — “The Walking Dead.”
Yes, that’s right, I called them graphic novels, not comic books because that’s what they are. To call transforming these visual tales into movies and television shows a “trend” doesn’t quite seem to cover the scope of the wave of creations that have come in recent years.
“The Walking Dead” isn’t even the only graphic novel inspired series on AMC (2WC favorite “Preacher” being one of the others). It’s a phenomenon to be sure, and its source content is worth a read. And if you think the television series has been going on forever, just wait until you get into the novels, you have a lot of reading ahead of you.
Better get started, the next season of “The Walking Dead” will be here before you know it.
