…Walk This Way

…Walk This WayHappy Walking Dead Sunday!

Yes, after the summer off and “Fear the Walking Dead,” the original is finally back.

If you’re not watching, well I respect your decision. Just know that you are seriously missing out, and may find yourself with nothing to talk about at the water cooler tomorrow.

You have every right to not watch the show, but if you’re not watching purely because you think zombie shows aren’t your thing, well you might want to rethink your position.

First of all, “The Walking Dead” is no a zombie show. It’s a show about surviving the apocalypse, which started when a deadly virus took out a large chunk of the global population. Oh, and the people who die from the virus do become re-animated corpses, but we prefer to call them walkers or biters…depending on who you talk to.

Anyways, my point is, the show is not about the not-zombies, it’s about the people who survived. Yes, one of their daily obstacles is the walkers/biters, but they’re merely one of the perils of living in a post-apocalyptic world.

Secondly, what the show is really about, as I previously mentioned, is the survivors. Each and every survivor has their own reaction to a completely new world created by the virus. The show explores the best and worst aspects of our humanity. It’s compelling storytelling, with an excellent cast of characters.  A world with walkers, biters, and humans raises a lot of questions about what makes us human.

Finally, it’s just a really good show. If you don’t believe me, well then you’re certainly not alone, but neither am I. “The Walking Dead,” is the #1 show outside of network television. So, maybe it might be worth a try.

For the rest of you, who needed no convincing. Enjoy the final hours of the countdown to Season 6 of “The Walking Dead.” Should be a good one.

…just for fun:
