Warning: May Contain Nuts…

So, I was chatting with some friends of mine tonight, and one of them had a great point.  If you suffer from a chronic illness, do not let it define you.  I will go a step further and say that we do not all have labels neatly identifying us on the backs of our shirts.  I know what mine would say…yes, I made it the title of this post.  I am not afraid to think outside of the box or even act that way.  Sometimes we need a little crazy in our lives.  The point is, when you make a new friend, hopefully they don’t come up to you and just blurt things out with the intention of running you off.  It takes time to get to know someone.

Everyone has something they might be afraid of, or feel “labeled” by.  Maybe you are a single mother, divorced or something else to do with a “relationship” like just plain single.  Do not let that define you.  Hopefully, you are still the same person you were.  Maybe a little wiser or a little more fragile, but you have not changed.  Maybe you have just recently found out you are attracted to the same sex.  In my opinion, those people who were your friends to begin with, will still be your friends.  I don’t speak for everyone, I know that.  However, I value loyalty as a great quality among friends.

I think Jimmy said it best, when he said to change your attitude:

Okay, so the truth is, I just like Jimmy Buffett and wanted to put this in here, but he does make some great points.  The man is a genius.

“Elvis was the only man from Northeast Mississippi who could shake his hips and still be loved by rednecks, cops, and hippies.”  ~Jimmy Buffett
