Before you panic and start pulling apart your HDTV in search of the recording device, you should know that the only televisions currently “confirmed” to be eavesdropping are Samsung SmartTV’s.
Yes, it seems that voice command feature is picking up a lot more than just your request to watch the latest episode of “Modern Family” (or as your television with a bad case of selective-hearing knows it, “Downton Abbey”).
To be fair, the television set clearly states in its privacy policy users should,”be aware that if your spoken words include personal or other sensitive information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to a third-party.”
You read that, right? Right after you finished reading through the Facebook privacy policy, right?
