Good morning! Do you feel a bit of a nip in the air today? I do... and it make me think of winter. So, let's revisit a wonderful wedding reception at Maunsel House in Somerset that I photographed last winter, where this truly fabulous couple made their vows in front of their nearest and dearest - and then partied all night long!
If you're going to get married in winter, you're wise to be prepared for the fact that you might not get to enjoy the grounds of your chosen wedding venue due to inclement weather. So, it's prudent to choose a wedding that offers as much inside as it does outside... a sector that Maunsel House certainly falls into! As an exclusive use venue with a large amount of different reception rooms for the guests to enjoy, there is room aplenty for everyone, no matter what they feel like doing. So, if your guests feel like a break from dancing, they can relax in the bar, or put their feet up in the library in front of a roaring fire - or just creep away to their room for a refresher before carrying on the party!
This wedding did end up being one of those winter wedding days where we were confined indoors for the majority of the day, but it certainly didn't put a damper on proceedings. The couple, when planning their day, had envisaged a romantic candlelit backdrop to their celebrations - exactly right for cosying up against the elements! And Maunsel House put on a tremendous show for them, creating one unforgettable wedding.
