Wedding Vs Marriage

Posted on the 28 April 2015 by Lifeofasportswife @jessaolson
Every little girl talks about how they want the perfect wedding day. I was no different, but after my big day I learned quickly that it doesn't reflect our marriage. Gary and I didn't know each other for too long before we proposed. We met in September/October ish while working the NBA D-League team Iowa Energy. He sat right next to be and was suppose to train. We started dating in February 2010 and got engaged the following month. (Cliff not version for you.) We wanted to the families to get a chance to get to know each other before the wedding. We got married April 2011 in Michigan.  The week of my wedding wasn't one that every girl dreams of. My MOH asked if I had a backup a few days prior to the wedding, my wedding photographer told us that this was their first wedding after telling us all the other weddings they have done.  When friends get engaged and ask for advice I tell them the advice that I got.  At the reception hold hands, and don't let go. Everyone will want to take you in different directions. Ask for references. CALL them. If I would have done that the whole photographer thing may not have happened.  Wedding: It's just a day. It's the day before God and your family and friends that you are officially married.  Marriage: It's the days after the wedding. It's up to you after that to make it work. Gary and I decided early on during our engagement that when we got married we wanted to honor God and become are own family.
