Weekend Wrap-Up

Posted on the 30 April 2012 by Ourlittlecorner @ourcornerblog

We had a pretty crazy weekend around here!!
Saturday morning I woke up with a freakin' migraine. Luckily it was bearable. I dropped the kids off at my mom's and went to help some friends move. I helped them for a few hours and had lunch with them. (My husband had to work or he would have been there too.) Afterwards I drove all over kingdom-come looking for an address where I was going to pick up some Craigslist stuff. Finally found it! Meanwhile my migraine was getting worse and I was sure I was about to throw up at any moment. Thankfully I never did. I went to pick up the kids and ended up laying down and taking a nap with C for an hour or so with ice on my head. We headed home around 7ish and my husband called to say our electricity was out because something happened with the transmentor thing outside in the green box. (Whatever it is??) Soooo, we stopped by the house and used a flash light to pack some bags since we weren't sure if we'd need to stay the night at my parents' house. The hubby dropped me and Bug off at my parents while he and C went grocery shopping. I still felt TERRIBLE and after a quick shower I just laid on the couch for the rest of the evening. Our electricity was turned back on late Saturday evening so we ended up staying the night at home.
Sunday morning I still had a migraine... this time my entire head was pounding. Usually I have a migraine on one side of my head or the other but yesterday it was BOTH sides! I was sure I was dying. My husband took the kids to church while I laid in bed ALL day with ice packs on both sides of my head. I thought a bubble bath sounded nice and relaxing but it made me feel worse!! Finally around 6 in the evening I started feeling better and got up for the rest of the evening. Meanwhile my husband was outside mowing and edging and he and another neighbor saw a psycho neighbor boy (about 20 years old?) walking around outside stark naked!!! I am SO glad the kids did not see him and I'm SO glad I didn't see him either. We already knew the guy had issues because a couple weeks ago he was lying flat on his back in the middle of the street! Who does that? The kids and I had just been looking out the front window watching my husband do yard work and we figured out later that the naked boy came outside right after that. Glad we missed it!
Meanwhile, my husband went out to the backyard to mow and edge out there. Then he came in and told me that was a dead bunny in the backyard. (There are wild rabbits ALL over our neighborhood so it's not surprising to find bunnies in our yard.) I went out back to look at it and decided we should bury it so I got some shovels and dug a small hole. Meanwhile hubby was inside taking Bug to the bathroom. I went back in a few minutes later and couldn't find anyone. Finally Bug walked in from a back room and I found C playing with the plunger in the toilet! I finally located my husband out front talking to the cops about the naked boy. (And that was the first I heard of it. My husband is so funny. If I saw a naked person walking around the neighborhood I would run in and tell my husband right away. I asked him why he didn't tell me and he's like "Oh, I wasn't even thinking about it." Haha! He cracks me up. I think every little detail in life is so important and he is so nonchalant about everything.)
So things were a little crazy this weekend!!
Today was a little better. My migraine came back in the middle of the night but by this morning it was somewhat manageable. We had plans to the go to the zoo so I decided to go ahead and go even though I really wanted to stay in bed. As the day went on I started feeling a little better and we had a nice time although the weather was incredibly HUMID and MUGGY!! We didn't stay too long but we had a good time.
Weekend Wrap-Up Little C being silly at the zoo. He loves to wear his new little hat.
Weekend Wrap-Up C, Bug and friend, E, holding hands and walking together at the zoo. C is getting so big! It's hard to believe he'll be 2 in just a few months.
Right before we left the zoo Bug said she wanted to see the "pink ones". My sister and I understood her to say "penguins". So we found the penguins and said "Okay Bug, here are the penguins!!" Needless to say she was not excited. She said "No, I want to see the 'pink ones'" And we're like "I know! Here are the penguins!!" Finally she said "No, the pink ones! I want to see the pink things." Haha! Then we remembered that she loves the flamingos!!
Weekend Wrap-Up
This isn't a very clear picture but does anyone know what kind of plant/flowers these are? They're planted by one of our local Starbucks and I think they're so pretty! I'd love to plant some in my yard. I meant to ask the Starbucks people if they knew and I forgot.
Well, hope everyone had a lovely weekend!
