Weekly Recap: 4/6-4/12

Wow, the week flew by.  Here is everything important that happened this week that you should know about.  If you haven’t heard about these you should probably get out more.

  • Margaret Thatcher dies at age 87. She was the first female prime minister of England, but other than that, Americans knew little about her.  Her controversial policies made her both loved and hated across the pond, but one thing is for sure, the Iron Lady is a legend everywhere, mostly because of the movie.Weekly Recap: 4/6-4/12
  • Don’t give your kids guns. A 4 year old killed a deputy sheriff’s wife after the kid picked up a gun and it accidentally discharged.  I see about a thousand ways this could have been avoided, but from what I see I think this kid just got away with murder.
  • Hash-tags are confusing.  The recent trending hash-tag on twitter “#nowthatcherisdead” apparently looked too much like “Now That Cher is Dead” not “Now Thatcher is Dead” and apparently Cher fans got a little confused.  I knew there would eventually be a problem with not putting spaces between our words.
  • Louisville wins it all. If you had Michigan as your national champions on your bracket, you probably cried yourself to sleep at least once this week, and if you lucked out and had Louisville winning it all congrats on winning the $20 bet pool you had going at the office.  Everyone like me who was unaffected by the tournament will continue on with our normal lives now.
  • Weekly Recap: 4/6-4/12Killer came clean using adorable meme.  Sometimes you kill someone and get away with it, but you just have to confess, so you use the “Confession Bear” meme and post on Reddit exactly what you did, and if you ever watch Law and Order, you know that he gave up his motive, means, AND opportunity, which is enough for a warrant on TV.  The idiot was smart enough to post it on his regular account, which was somehow linked to his Facebook which had his phone number on it.  OOPS!
  • Casino tours get exciting. A tour bus full of elderly people headed to a casino ran off the road, flipped, and killed 2, critically injuring 16.  Our retired community needs to find a safer past time like race car driving or recreational pistol dueling.
  • Stop being stereotypical. So the whole “oh Asians are good at everything” stereotype has officially been taken to a new level.  14 year old Guan Tianlang made the cut at the Masters this week, and is now the youngest to ever do so.  Now they are just showing off.
