About 20 years ago I was invited by an acquaintance to visit a Church of Christ. The minister was a man in his thirties, married, with five children. Since I only visited once, I saw the minister one time.
A few months later I saw the acquaintance and she told me the minister and his family had a terrible accident on the freeway while on vacation. He and his five children were killed. His wife was the only survivor.
Sometimes I think about her. How did she manage? Did she remarry? Did she have more children?
I could call the acquaintance but she scares my smallest kid parts. Dissociation does get in the way, but its positives outweigh the negatives.
