What is Spooning?

For those of you who do not know what spooning is, it is a type of cuddle. In spooning you have the Little Spoon, the one in the front, is for the smaller partner and is often considered emasculating, and usually will fall to the feminine partner. Unless you are much smaller than she is and then you will do whatever she tells you to anyway. The Big Spoon, the one at the back, will be the larger partner. This is typically the taller or more masculine partner.

The problem with spooning

I have no problem with cuddling, it is spooning I have an issue with and you will learn why.

The problem with spooning is often what happens when you fall asleep. In essence your legs are intertwined, wrapped around one another. It is romantic of course and sweet and intimate, but each person has their own body parts and it is difficult to fall asleep with someone’s leg in your back unless you are Al Bundy from “Married with Children“.

If you lie in each other’s arms for hours, your neck will slowly but surely start to krink,  up to the  point where you will feel that you will never be able to turn your head again. Those people often go to work saying that they slept badly. Yeah right. We know what you did last night.

What is the problem with spooning you may ask again and I will reply that I like my arm and I do not like lying on it. It stops the blood circulation to it and makes me feel like it does not belong to me. My poor arm starts to go numb until my fingers are tingling so badly that I can no longer sleep. I can actually not even move my arm. Talk about a true “Kill Me Now!” moment.

What do you do if you want to get out of that position?

Don’t ask me for advice of course.  A short search on professor google will tell you to move but fake it so you don’t hurt their feelings. You can use a fake yawn or a casual sleep “grunt” to try and make them think that you are doing this in your sleep. Perhaps add a snore or more.

Oh, and very important, never forget your date’s name!
