When Travel Brings Rewards

When travel brings rewards

As a frequent flyer, I am excited about " The Billion Miles Festival " from Jet Airways, India's premier international airline. This festival is perhaps the biggest frequent flyer reward promotion till date, and will reward both loyal program members and first time flyers with millions of bonus JPMiles when they book and travel during the offer period. And one lucky jackpot winner will win one million JPMiles!

I think the timing is perfect, since summer holidays are just around the corner, and all one has to do to participate is-you guessed it-travel! Nice way to show gratitude to customers, I say!

Also, travel can be anywhere in the airline's network!

You can earn JPMiles via partners when you fly, swipe, convert, stay, shop, dine, talk, live it up, read, rent-a-car, and much more. You may want to check out their ongoing offers and deals.

I prefer to use mine for travel, because I can continue to earn JPMiles and points. Win-win!

So how would I use my One Million JetPrivilege points? That's 1000,000 JPMiles

To begin, I am heading over to the mile conversion for Jet and code-shared flights to see the expansive network of flight routes and the respective miles required to redeem a free flight! It allows the option between using Jet Airways, Etihad Airways Partners and other airlines. This will help me plan a trip to the travel destinations on my wishlist.

I'll go with my top four places:

  • Toronto-because my best friend, whom I've known practically all my life lives there.
  • Singapore-more easily doable and yes, we already have an itinerary planned just in case we do go. We are in sync with the Universe like that!
  • Himachal Pradesh-we last went in April 2015, and while we loved our trip, we just knew we had to go back and see so much more.
  • Sikkim-same as HP above. One trip is just not enough to this state. I have a tryst with nature, and a deep desire to visit all the monasteries there. Also, Kanchenjonga was hiding from me last time I visited. This time I'll make sure I go when there is not a drop of rain!

Let's play with the mileage calculator to look at how I can choose between each of these places.

Toronto:

If I choose to travel by Jet Airways, I would need 522000 JPMiles per ticket for a round trip. There's three of us. So while the one million JPMiles won't cover our fare, it will nevertheless make the trip attractive.

Now let's see how it works out for my next destination.

Singapore

Ever since my cousins showed me photos of their trip, years ago, I've yearned to visit Singapore, but the economics put me off. I was more focused on survival with my finances. But now, the possibilities are endless. Singapore requires 135000 JPMiles per round trip ticket. Gosh, that would easily cover our tickets!

If I choose Himachal Pradesh

I'll need 78000 JPMiles per round trip ticket. This looks good to me. Places I would visit here are Kasauli, Dharamsala (again!), Simla, Chamba, Dalhousie, Kangra, Una, and Kulu Manali. Obviously not all, but so much choice!

What if I went to Sikkim?

This also requires 78000 JPMiles per round trip ticket. I'd want to see places I missed last time: Tsomgo lake, Nathula Pass, Pelling, Lachung, Ravangla, Rumtek Monastery, Zuluk, Namgyal Institute, and so much more. We would make another trip to Darjeeling to catch a sight of the Kanchenjonga peak. There are falls, lakes, parks, and monasteries galore!

I can't help feeling excited over this! My son's summer break starts on 1 May which means we have plenty of time to plan a trip to the destination of our choice to combine our existing JPMiles and the possibility of a win!

All I have to do is:

Just book my flight on the jetairways website or mobile app before Mar 31, 2017 and fly any time up to May 31, 2017. That's it! I take home guaranteed additional JPMiles and stand a chance to win a million JPMiles, which is equal to redeeming 10 return trips between Mumbai and London or 100 return trips between Mumbai and Goa, simply using my JPMiles. As easy as that! Exciting, no?

You can, too!

Now that I've put my intentions out there, let me sit back and wish! For info about JetPrivilege visit their site. Good luck!
