Why I Like Delicious

Posted on the 09 August 2012 by Meltingmoments

With so many social sites around, for me, Delicious is one that really serves a purpose in my online world. If you haven’t stumbled upon Delicious yet (excuse the geeky pun), let me give you a few reasons as to why you should check it out.

It’s portable. Delicious is a social bookmarking site that allows you to compile your favorite book marks and store them in one easy to reach location. Rather than having your favorite sites bookmarked on your different computers or devices, Delicious keeps them in one handy location so you can access them from any computer or device, anywhere in the world. As a relief teacher, I have found it ideal for storing online resources and sites that I like to use in class. It’s available to me from any computer with an internet connection which saves me having to lug around my laptop.

Why I like Delicious

It’s simple. Delicious has a really clean interface which makes it quite user friendly. You have probably seen the delicious icon on blogs and websites. Clicking it will allow you to add to your collection of bookmarks. You can also just click the ‘add link’ button or use the bookmarklet to add links to your collections.

Why I like Delicious

It’s organised. If you bookmark as haphazardly as I do, you won’t have put much thought into making your bookmarks organised into folders within your web application. With Delicious, you can organize your bookmarks with tags or into stacks that will make them easy to find. For example, you could have a stack called Kid Friendly Recipes and within the stack you could tag the recipes according to their main ingredients.

Setting up a delicious account is very straight forward. Here’s some things you should do when you first sign up.
