Today, depression is far more common than you anticipate.

The depressing fact about depression is that most people disbelief that depression is just unhealthy amounts of sadness and narrow it down to only constant breakdowns and visible suicidal traits. To state proper facts, depression is far more powerful; unseen. It lives among us in the darkest corners, and its victims are more concealed than you think.

So, you may be someone who’s beating this in silence or you may know someone who is.

Let me breakdown to you how Indian food can be your real friend.

It’s science

This dynamic cuisine is a journey of spices. With every mouthful, without fail, you feel that tolerable zing of spices from the turmeric to chili flakes to the mother of Indian food; garam masala.

Let’s be real. Sure enough it may burn your mouth and stomach if you’re faint hearted but who doesn’t fancy a hot butter chicken curry?

And wouldn’t you come back for more?

So why do we find pleasure in this pain?

One explanation is, it’s for the thrill of it. Where we get this thrill from is where the science comes in. Funnily enough, what makes us greed for more is the actual spices in this food. You maybe a mighty meat lover struggling to find a new taste out of your grill or you might be a vegan trying to find the perfect food to fit your ethics and some good flavor. Don’t you worry, Indians got you covered.

Add some coriander and brush some yogurt and just like that you can level up your Sunday roast.

Tired of salads? Indian is one of the friendliest cuisines for vegetarians. There are around 500 million vegetarians in India and they’re playing around with their spices and veggies, creating new dishes all the time.

Every mouthful gives you the perfect sense of satisfaction, joy and warmth. This is a cuisine that fails you not to put a wide smile on you even on a gloomy day.

There simply are no rules you can possibly break. It’s simply that easy. The best part is, the technique of Indian cuisine is a hybrid of almost all international cuisines. They incorporate a wide range of techniques like – baking, frying, wok tossing, smoking that you can create a dish from what you already know.

You don’t need the most expensive ingredients to bring the taste of India to your kitchen. Keep it simple and embrace the attitude of its bold flavors. With its assortment of spices, condiments and aroma, Indian food allows its makers to feel creative and adventurous.

It’s all about the fambam

If there’s one thing that makes Indian food stand out from the rest it’s – generosity.  This is a meal not fit for just one soul, it aims at bringing people together. A cuisine where cooking is made fun. From washing up the veggies, chopping the shallots to rubbing that spice mix on the meat,  Indian food brings families and friends together.

Indian food is not a meal just prepped but an adventure incurred. In fact It’s not a meal where you  sit with a napkin and sharpen your cutlery but an aromatic procedure of being absorbed in all the flavors.

The array of dishes of curries, salads, rice and bread is invitation enough to bring everyone together and get everyone started.  A cultural cuisine that bring generations of family and friends together to one table. Most importantly it’s a meal that leaves no one behind.
