Will Power

Posted on the 30 October 2014 by Mattie @comfyconfident

*My first blog post, ever, was exactly 3 years ago. I thought it was worth reposting since it is very relevant and I continue to work on my will power and self discipline in hopes of being more comfortable and confident in myself. Will You

I like to think I have will power. After all, I have a strong work ethic, I am an athlete and have the grit and determination to get the gym most days of the week. That takes personal will power right? But when it comes to the strength to say no to food or a casual drink, I can not say no. Wanna share a basket of fries? Sure! Let’s met for a drink after work? Sure! All these small things add up. And this summer, man did they. I have gained 10 lbs. Yuck.
I even ran a marathon, trained the whole summer, followed a program and still gained weight. I know that they say that happens to some people, but it sucks. I work out hard, but I still gain weight. What it comes down to is I need to control my eating habits. I need to find a balanced, clean diet I can maintain.
I am determined to find the will-power to say no. That is the goal of this blog. I am going to post and update on the status of this challenge. It is a personal challenge and may very well be the hardest one I have taken on.
The Webster dictionary defines will-power as “energetic determination”. I plan to find and concur my personal will-power.
Wikipedia says Willpower may refer to:
Self discipline: training and control of oneself and one’s conduct, usually for personal improvement
Self control: the ability of a person to exert his/her will over the inhibitions of their body or self.
