WIN a $100 Voucher for Glama Mama Maternity

Posted on the 17 September 2017 by Suzanne Robinson @mummy2twinsblog

Did you struggle with trying to find clothes that looked great when you were pregnant?

I know I did.

Nothing ever looked good and when I thought something might be okay, it turned out it was horrible on me. I looked like a huge person that was very pregnant. Obviously I was, but I still wanted to feel good about myself, and wearing something nice always helps.

Glama Mama Maternity approached me to test out an outfit of theirs and I did think due to the baby weight not shifting, maybe I could wear a dress and pull it off. However, I thought that was a silly idea and due to the fact my sister is currently pregnant I thought she could test out an outfit on my behalf. Yes my sister is pregnant with baby number two and she is due in January, Australia Day to be precise. (If this baby comes on Australia Day they will always have a public holiday for their special day).

Read below Kay's trials in trying to find some outfits that will flatter her while pregnant.

The usual selection of maternity clothes is abysmal. My utter delight at finding that I was pregnant with my second child is at odds with my appearance of late - which can only be described as resembling an unemployed man. I've been getting around in trackpants that are worn low under the bump (resulting in a very saggy looking butt) and oversized t-shirts that look as though I've been rummaging through my partners draws.

And then I realised I would have to find something formal and elegant to wear to a friend's wedding. The horror!

Enter Glama Mama Maternity. When they offered to let me trial one of their maternity outfits I couldn't have been more grateful. Most department stores have a maternity section that comprises of a couple of pairs of pants and 4 or 5 tops... and as I'm sure most mums know - the choices are not glamorous.

Not so with Glama Mama... their dress selection is quite impressive. It was very difficult to nail it down to just one! Check their website and you'll see what I'm talking about.
After much umming and ahhing I finally decided on their Giselle dress, a lovely black and cream number with a faux lace pattern (and expandable tummy section!).

The dress arrived the very next day and (shock!) actually fit. I kid you not. Their sizing chart is extremely accurate, I don't think I've ever ordered clothes online without some sort of size discrepancy, so this was a very pleasant surprise.

This dress actually turned a friend's wedding back into the wonderful occasion it should be, as opposed to something I was dreading because I looked like a fat sausage who's swallowed a beach ball - in saggy butt pants.
