Shall we take a look at some images from a recent and rather lovely winter wedding at Brympton House in Somerset? Ok then!
If you read this blog often, you'll know that Brympton House is one of my favourite venues which I've photographed weddings at many times now. And, you'll also know that one of my favourite parts of a wedding day to photograph is the wedding day! Add delightful children into the mix and you have my perfect recipe for wedding photography.... and that's exactly what I was treated to at this wonderful winter wedding at Brympton House.
Do you remember being part of the wedding party when you were a child? I do. I was a bridesmaid at a cousin's wedding when I was about six, and although I was never a 'girly' girl, I still remember the magical moment of seeing my bridesmaids dress and wearing it for the very first time. I remember how special it was and how much like a princess I felt. Not only that - I clearly remember wanting to wear it at every party I possibly could after that, even when it was getting far too small for me!
That's why, when I photograph a wedding day, I try and capture moments from the perspective of the children as well as the adults. There is absolutely NOTHING like the wonder of a child experiencing something so special as a wedding for the first time.. and when it's at a venue as stately and amazing as Brympton House, the wonder and magic is immeasurable. A little girl in a bridesmaid's dress feels like a real princess in her fairytale castle - and that feeling, when she looks back to remember it, will last forever.
