…Wise Up

…Wise UpWe’re halfway through the week, and it seems like as good a time as any to drop some knowledge. Or if you prefer the hashtag version, it’s time to share some #WednesdayWisdom.

“Fake” has been thrown around a lot recently, so to counterbalance that lack of authenticity, here are some genuine facts to help you feel more connected to reality and hopefully more informed.Zyzzyva — No, it’s not another Twitter typo. This South American weevil might be lacking in vowels (“Y” you know you’re not a real vowel), but that didn’t stop it from claiming the last word…in the Oxford English Dictionary.

No Detectable Limit — That’s the latest word on the science streets for the human lifespan…meaning that 115, a number that made some waves last year when it was published by a group of researchers.

2 Billion — That’s the number of Facebook users as of Tuesday. For those of you keeping track at home, Facebook hit 1 billion users in 2012. That means they’ve doubled in 5 years. To put it another way, that’s a lot of “likes.”

Page Through — As in what the TSA may soon be doing to that pile of books and magazines your brought along on your summer vacation. Travelers in California and Missouri have already been asked to place their books and magazines in a separate bin…and it looks like this trend may go nationwide.

…just for fun:
