If you’re following my blog for quite a long time now, you know how I also love to share awesome restaurants me and boyfriend had dined in. Since last year, we’ve been hearing a lot about this “katsu fever” at Yabu. Every single person we asked what they think about it, they only have one answer “You should go there!”. I’ve been asking bf to go to and eat there but I forgot what his alibis were until finally on our 3rd Anniversary, my wish was granted! An unforgettable late lunch at Yabu, Alabang Town Center branch.

We arrived at around 2:30pm which I think was a perfect time to go there since the place is jam-packed during lunch and dinner (based from experience). Fortunate enough, we were seated on a comfy couch, good for 4 pax. Since it’s our first time at Yabu, we were introduced to this “Yabu Ritual”. At first I was like, oh ritual…should we pray or do something before we can eat?
Yabu ritual is what they call for their process of making your own sauce. Grind, pour, and mix. We’ve been here countless times already (since our anniversary) and it’s so funny that every time we eat here, me and boyfriend will compare our ground roasted sesame seeds, who made it really fine. Oh well, I always win 
Here are the sets we have tried. Their Katsu sets are served with unlimited Japanese white rice or brown rice (go for this if you’re into healthy diet), miso soup, Japanese pickles, organic cabbage (with your choice of dressing), and a mini bowl of fruits.
For me: Rosu (Pork Loin) Katsu Set 120g P370.00
It’s a 3/4 inch thick of US Pork with fat.
For BF: Kurobuta Pork Set 120g P585.00
This is their best seller and he is a big fan! I think he ordered this 3-4x since we have been here for like, 7-8x already since end of February. Yes, we’re here every week. (Now you know the reason why I gained a lot of weight lately, and yeah you find me blooming. Thank you.) Kurobuta is known as the world’s finest pork. It has rich and clean taste.
Crispy and juicy, should I say more?
Another favorite here, their unlimited cabbage and goma dressing! Ohh la la, I’m salivating just by thinking of it.
Chocolate Lava Cake P195.00 (I believe, correct me if I’m wrong with the name and price)
Dessert is my favorite part of every meal. I love this cake! Small serving for its price tho but it’s delicious. I was wondering at first why it’s called “lava”, thinking there must be something flowing in there, and yup! The chocolate creamy syrup (should I call it) topped with strawberry ice cream (you can also go for vanilla if you prefer).
For their beverage, tried this fresh Mango Shake which I love. You can also try their Bottomless Lemonade for only P95.00. However, I noticed that I get full easily when it’s my drink to pair with my meal.
Our never-ending love affair with Yabu started February 26th *evil laugh*. Then we keep coming back every week. We even influenced a friend of ours when we invited her for lunch, and she liked it here as well and she’ll invite her family too on her next visit.
Here are the other sets that we have tried. I wasn’t able to take pictures of everything because, first (during my birthday), I brought my camera with me just to know I left the battery at home. Then next (2 visits), I had my camera and the battery but forgot the memory card in my laptop mc slot. Ohh my, blame my excitement and poor memory these days *lol*

Other sets that we have tried that are not in the photos: Salmon Set, Menchi Curry Katsu Set (with stuffed cheese), and Fish Katsu Set. We haven’t tried their appetizers and salads yet, maybe on our next visit.
Strawberry Ice Cream
They gave free Strawberry Ice Cream / Bottomless Lemonade when you order any seafood katsu set in celebration of Joshi Seafood Festival. I got an extra one during my birthday. However, I wasn’t that happy because I signed up for their VIP list but I didn’t receive any voucher or coupon for a Free Katsu Set for my birthday. I hope they will improve on that and get up to date with their records.
Overall, we enjoy our meals every time we eat at Yabu. We always go home with happy tummies! They have great staff, very attentive if you need anything. I believe it’s going to be our 9th visit if ever we go back by next week *laughs* No, not gluttony. We just love Yabu! It’s also our way to relieve stress and reward ourselves every time we accomplish something.
