Can you believe it, I have been blogging for TEN YEARS! ONE DECADE! Wow. This blog is my blood, sweat and tears. I love it at one point and hate it another. I threaten to close it down for good but then feel guilty for even thinking that.
It all started when I had to do an assignment in class about blogging. It was still so new at that time no one knew anything about it except that it's an online diary that you share with people you give your internet address to. There were no marketing stragegy on how to get this blogger on to our product, no sponsored post, no review post nothing. It was unheard of. When you tell someone that you blog, they will look at you and said you just invented some techy savvy word to confuse people. When you tell them what it is, they look at you and say that you are crazy for sharing your diary online and to the rest of the world. Now, after 10 years, it is completely changed. I read somewhere that there is a blog born every half a second. HALF A SECOND! wow!
Anyways you can see my first post HERE. Those were the days when blogging was still a novelty and no one read my blog. I lost a whole week's of post before the first post but decided to soldier on like nothing was wrong. Like I said, no one was reading my blog so it was mainly for me. I was still with my ex at that time, so it was a simple time. We were carefree and were very much in love. All we did that summer was hang out at friends place or the beach. My how the times have changed after 10 years eh? We are both with different people now with children of our own.
I was blogging on a different platform then. Geocities. I don't even think that it exist anymore. I remember editing it using HTML codes everyday just to get the formating right. Then Blogger came out with Blogspot and I moved my blog there and after 2 years of using Blogger, I switched over to typepad and have been with typepad ever since. YIKES. How can all of that happened in 10 years?
There were hardly any blogs out there then but there was one that, ten years down the track, I still read. LJCFYI. I have never met the girl behind LJCFYI but I feel like I have known her for ever just by reading her blog. I have seen her from being single to being married to having one pug, plus one cat and now another pug.
Another good friend that I have known in the 10 years that I have been blogging is Margie. I have never met Margie before but we speak to each other on Twitter and Facebook. I have seen her kids grow up via blogging. It is such a joy to be part of her family even though I am a thousand miles away.
Not to mentioned everyone that I have met throughout the years. It has been a fun ride I have to say. Although secretly I know some may read my blog secretly to know what is going on with my life, I am ok with that. I would do the same thing too. :) So read on!
I have no plans on celebrating this huge milestone, but I do hope that you guys continue to read about my daily life so here is a Virtual cake to share. Here is to another 10 more years! Hip Hip HOORAYYYY. Hip Hip HORRRRAAYY.
