Oh, the long awaited Bumpdate!
In my case, lack there of. All it looks like is that I have been eating wayyyyy too many doughnuts. I Googled "12 week bump" to see how big a lot of girls are, and it varies so much. Even though I can't wait for it to look like an actual bump, it's already big enough that I can't wear my normal pants anymore. My jeggings still fit, but I invested in a BeBand and it works well. I still feel weird going out in public knowing my pants are unbuttoned though.
As I talked about before (and I'll talk about a lot more tomorrow), the pregnancy has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs. I prayed at the beginning that if there was any way, I wish I could receive more frequent doctor visits than normal. I didn't want anything to be wrong with the baby, I was just so worried after what happened last Fall.
Well, God listened.
By the 12 week mark, most women will have one ultrasound. I've had 6.
The first one was awful because they didn't see a single thing - which scared me to death.
But then, at the 6 week mark, we saw the little sac forming. By 7.5 weeks there was a little baby on the screen and by 9 weeks it was very easy to see a strong heartbeat. Last week we went in on Wednesday to make sure everything was ok before we told everyone and went public on Friday.
I could not believe how much the baby changed in 2 weeks. Then I had a scare this week and was brought back in...the baby turned into a little chubster!
It has been scary dealing with various spotting and other problems, but I guess I should learn to be careful what you pray for! It has been such a comfort for me to see the baby at least every 2 weeks.
My doctor may have me come in again next week or the week after, so I am grateful I won't have to wait until the typical 16 week appointment.
After talking to my friend Ruthie, she convinced me to buy a home doppler so we can listen to the baby whenever we want. It's supposed to come today or tomorrow. It will be really amazing to hear the heartbeat for the first time! We sill haven't heard it because we've done ultrasounds at every doctor visit. I would rather see the baby anyways, but I hear that the heartbeat takes your breath away.
Besides that I am really excited because my best friend came into town yesterday. Her and her boyfriend will be here for the weekend and I am so happy. I haven't seen her since my wedding, so it will be really nice to catch up.
Until next week! (When I hopefully get more of a bump!)
