Well, this week's bumpdate is comical...mostly because I think my "bump" looks like it shrank from last week.
From the front when I wear clothes it just looks like I have a poochy tummy hanging over my pants. I did buy some maternity pants this week from H&M. They are so cute! Skinny and one is black while the other is mint.
Anyone else obsessed with the mint fad going on right now?!?
I also finally found maternity leggings that are long enough for me. I am 5'9" so it has been a challenge. Gap saved the day!
Even though my bump looks so small, I cannot tell you how much of a relief it is to wear maternity clothes. The best way I can describe it is that you don't feel "restricted" anymore.
Last weekend one of my best friends, Erin, and her boyfriend came into town.
I cropped out my "pooch"
The day after they arrived, our home doppler arrived in the mail and I was able to hear the baby's heartbeat for the very first time. Every other day or so I can listen now and it makes me feel so much better.
Then on Sunday I got to take Ryan on his first double blate!
My friend Lauren (who was also my first blate ever) was in Denver, so we met her and her husband for brunch. We had such a great time and now Ryan doesn't think that my blog friends are total creeps...
If you click that link above to see my first blate ever, my friend Tiffany is about as far along in her pregnancy in those pictures as I currently am. That is so crazy to me because she only has about a month left now!!!
As you read this, I am currently snuggled up in New Jersey (or "dirty Jersey" as Ryan insists on calling it). We flew in last night and I am so happy to get to see Ryan's family for the weekend. It was such a blessing that we found cheap tickets, so two weeks ago we made the plans and now there we are!
I am hoping to find out the gender in the next two weeks! Ryan and I really want a boy. There aren't any boys on my side of the family...just my dad. He has no brothers or boy cousins even. I would be happy with either a boy or girl, but if we have a girl and then the second baby is a girl I think I will be freaking out on baby #3. I hope to get at least one of each, so I think it would be a relief to have a boy so that at least I know I CAN have a boy.
I have no idea what to do with a boy though, so that worries me. But I hear they are much easier in the long run (especially the teen years) over girls. My poor dad...
Well I hope you have a good weekend and here's to wishing my REAL bump appears soon!
