I'm sure I'm known for a being a bit of a soppy person, I wear my heart on my sleeve and I love love. It's a beautiful thing.
I met my Husband Adam at school when I was just 14 and he was too. I don't think I was looking for love before I met him. I don't think I really know what it really was, but as cliche as it may sound when I first saw him I knew that there was something about him.I think I've always been pretty good at reading people and I remembering thinking at the time that he was a good person and feeling a connection to him, despite never having spoken to him at that point. It is with huge thanks to my school best friend that Adam and I are together today. I was incredibly shy at that age, I would never have taken the plunge and told him that I liked him and wanted to be his girlfriend, so I'm incredibly grateful to her.Adam and I have today spent 14 years together, which is half of our entire lives. It's funny because 14 years just doesn't seem like a very long time when I put it down like that, it feels like far longer - but in a good way.
Looking back, I can't really remember a time without him.
Looking at the present, it just never gets old - everyday is just as good as every other day and as soppy as it sound, I still pinch myself that I get to call him my Husband and the father of my children.
And looking forward, I honestly couldn't imagine life without my childhood sweetheart and best friend.
We were just kids in uniforms when we met at school and since then not only have I've spent half of my entire life with him, we have made a little family together and have two (crazy) boys together. We've bought a family home and created our own little nest. We've got our cats who are just as crazy as our boys are. And we have built a loving, happy relationship and life together, which I'm more grateful for than any words could possibly say.
Of course, like all couples we have our ups and we have our downs. Life's not always rosie for anyone, but Adam truly is the most amazing person I've ever met. I just hope he knows just how incredibly happy he makes me every single day.
To mark spending half of our lives together I've been working on putting together this video from our wedding day back in 2012. Our wedding photographer
http://www.francescadb.com captured some raw video footage as a bonus to our wedding package and it's since sat on my computer. I make so many montage style videos of our occasions and moments as a family and so I thought it was about time I put some of the clips that she sent us together and made it into this little montage of our most special day. :)SaveSave
