Once again I'm faced with the annual mystery: Why does silly string only ever appear on gala day?
But it wasn't any old gala, it was Boy Three's birthday gala. His fourth birthday - yes, four. Can you believe it? His actual birthday fell on gala day, thereby solving our party/no party dilemma.
The theme for the Boy's big day has been army. He was chuffed to unwrap a military helicopter kit, an army uniform, an army torch, a camoflage lunch box, water bottle and sandwich box (currently home to a Lego militia) and a Star Wars gun.
If it wasn't such an old-fashionedly sunny day and I wasn't feeling so indolent, I'd be writing something about small children and weapons, but it is so I won't. I'll save that for another day.
