It’s hard to imagine that it’s been 17 years since Armageddon Arizona style.
The Rodeo fire and the Chediski fires merged and created the largest, at the time, wildfire in Arizona history. Approximately 500,000 acres burned. Towns were evacuated. We, in Show Low Az, were the last to be evacuated and were out about 10 days.
Scary time for us. A lot of homes lost in neighboring areas. Our town came out of it unscathed, except for a little PTSD.
