18 Months

Little C turned 18 Months today!!!
- At 18 months he is saying TONS of stuff. I don't remember Bug talking quite this much at 18 months but I could be wrong. Some of the things C says are: I want that, cookies, cereal, chicken, meat, cheese, cracker, milk, water, cup, spoon, shoes, car, outside, play, ball, dog, cat, lion, Elmo (mo-mo), Bob The Builder (Bob Ba Bilber... cutest thing ever!), Olivia (o-wiv-ee-a), shirt, potty, bath, mama, mom, daddy, papa, weeza (what they call my mom), tia, Gigi (an aunt), 3 cousins names, night night, love you (wuv you), bed, ketchup, computer (com-pu-per), fix it, work, hands, feet, bowl, help, baby, bear and book. I know he probably says more.... I can never thing of everything off the top of my head. I think he also says two Spanish words: luna (moon) and pie/s (foot/feet.)
- He loves to sing! He can sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star pretty well and Bug has been "teaching" him to sing Happy Birthday To You. C gets a really serious, concentrated look on his face when he sings. It's really cute! :) He also loves to listen to music and dance around.
- He loves to watch Elmo (his favorite) and Bob The Builder. The last couple of days he's asked to watch Olivia too.
- He loves being outdoors.
- He has loved dogs for the past few months. If there's a dog on TV it always catches his attention, if he sees a dog outside he gets all excited. He loves to look at the dogs in the pet store. And he likes his stuffed dogs and toy dogs.
- Lately he has been eating lots of Cheerios with milk. For several days he'd ask for "ce-reel" 3 or 4 times a day. He'll usually try almost every food at least once... if he doesn't like something he'll spit it out but at least he tries it. Some of his other favorite foods right now are chicken nuggets from Chik-fil-a, cheese, fruit, pizza and raisins. He's also gotten in the habit of having chocolate Carnation every morning, just like Bug.
- Apparently he prefers chocolate over vanilla. We were out to eat for a birthday last week and there were chocolate cupcakes and vanilla cupcakes in the center of the table. When it came time for dessert he asked for a "cookie". I gave him a vanilla cupcake but he got all upset and tried to throw it. He said "No, no, I want cookie!" and pointed to the chocolate cupcake. He comes by that honestly... I'm a total chocoholic and so is my husband and Bug.
- His favorite toys are cars, balls, trains and building blocks. He likes to play with anything outdoors.... riding toys, chalk or just run around outside. He also likes to color and draw with his Doodler toy.
- He's pretty funny. When you ask him how old he is he'll hold up one finger and say "two!" We always tell him "No, you're one, not two" and he'll just grin and laugh and keep saying "two! two!"
- I really think he acts older than his age. I think it's probably because he has a big sister who he mimics and competes with. This has probably made him a little more independent than he might have been otherwise. He normally wants to walk everywhere rather than ride in the stroller, he has been feeding himself with a spoon or fork for months and likes to do almost everything for himself. He cracks me up when he walks around the library carrying his books or carries his lunch to the table at Chik-fil-a, carries a bag of trash out to the curb, helps put laundry in the washer or dryer, or goes potty.
- He's wearing size 18 month thru 24 month/2T shirts, size 6.5 shoes and size 4 diapers. His size 12 month pants fit in the waist but they're too short. Size 18 month pants are way too big... so we're having a little problem there.
