I wrote a post on my personal blog two years ago summing the years in one word.
2006: Change
2007: Perseverance
2008: Darkness
2009: Adventure
2010: Faith
2011: Hope
2012 .... Strength. My God did I need strength this year!
Mental strength to take all four parts of the CPA exam and pass them the first time.
The strength to get through the first year of medical school.
Buying furniture to commit to Maryland took some strength. (Even if it didn't last long)
Joining Medical Mondays and being strong enough to share my thoughts with the rest of the blogging world.
Flying to Los Angeles to tape a Jeff Probst show episode that was never aired was pretty gutsy and strong of me to do. Too bad I'm not famous.
Quitting my wonderful job in Maryland, moving to Pennsylvania, and starting with a new company while moving in with M after two years of long distance took strength I never knew I had. I took a risk that our love would be worth potentially losing everything for, and I gained everything in the end.
I found the courage to tell my dad's fiancee what I believed was the truth about his past when no one else would. And then I had the strength to deal with my dad putting me down via email while copying the rest of my family. I was strong enough to not put up with his negative influence, and now I'm spending Christmas with people who love me unconditionally.
And finally, I had the strength to apply for and get accepted into grad school.
Even though I had to weather through most of these events on my own - I could not have found the strength to do it without the love and support of family and friends, and the encouragement of blog readers like you. Thanks to all of you for taking the time to share in my adventures: downfalls and triumphs, alike. I appreciate every pageview, comment, and visit.
See you in 2013, Happy New Year and thanks for following!
