What's the weather going to do today? We ask it all the time, peering to the scudding clouds.
Standing in front of the wardrobe, pondering the pullovers. Layers or linen?
What does the paper say, the app, the seaweed? Is it worth making dainty sandwiches to scoff with icy lemonade in sunbeams? Or will they sweat in clingfilm while we huddle in a crowded cafe?
A little mizzle drizzle or a great fat deluge? It'll make all the difference. The line between glory and gloom is thin as cobwebs and as difficult to control.
And what a waste of time even to wonder and plan. There's nothing we can do about the weather. Sod the sarnies, take a coat and try to remember that rain is liquid sunshine.
