32 Week Bumpdate!

Look at how the belly has grown! It's crazy to compare 12-22-32 weeks. I remember feeling so silly taking that 12 week picture because there was absolutely no bump. I mean I could tell a difference, but no one even thought I looked pregnant until closer to 30 weeks. Now that I am 32 weeks and 8 or less weeks from delivering this little lady, I can tell you that I am so grateful that I have stayed on the smaller side.

As of this morning, I have gained 21 pounds. The healthy weight gain for my height and starting weight for week 32 is 20-28 pounds. I was so concerned throughout the first and second trimester that I would be huge by the end of pregnancy because I had to stop working out. I have spotted the entire time, so the only thing I can manage is walking around the neighborhood here and there. I was talking about this with Ryan and I now know that even without the exercise my weight stayed on track because I chose to eat healthy throughout this pregnancy. You really only need about 300 extra calories a day. I see a lot of women just use pregnancy as an excuse to eat horribly...then they wonder how they gained 40+ pounds and are so upset about trying to work it off afterwards. I continued to eat just like I had been before pregnancy and things have stayed on track. Yep, I still eat ice cream or macaroni and cheese, but I eat it sparingly or as a "treat".

The baby is 3 3/4 pounds by now and is about 16.7 inches long. Last night I pulled up videos of babies born at 32 weeks. It blew my mind. They look like a full term baby, just smaller. It is just so hard to believe that a baby just like that is inside my tummy. She may have flipped around already, with her head down and positioned for birth. I'm guessing the doctor may be able to tell us tomorrow at our doctor appointment. I've been so uncomfortable and I have had really bad cramps this week. I don't think I've had any type of contractions, even though all of my friends have been experiencing Braxton Hicks for weeks now.

I went into full on baby prep mode this past week. Everything has completely arrived from our baby registry, so I took the time to organize it all and we built every single item. I am glad that the nursery is ready to go and all the gear is set. The only thing I really need to do is create a hospital bag checklist and eventually put the carseat in the car. I also was told to make sure I had my breastpump and bottles sterilized, so I'll probably do that sometime within the next few weeks.

I pulled the carseat out and figured out how to work it...

...while Ryan put together both of our strollers. I love Marcy's face in this. She is probably super concerned that Ryan is drinking and "strollering" at the same time...

I will be doing a full post on this piece of baby gear. It is hands down the BEST pack and play you could every dream of. It takes less than 5 seconds to open or close it, and that is not an exaggeration. I made Ryan completely unpack and set it up and then tear it all down again, just to see it work. The best part is that it has a bassinet and changing pad, so we can use this as soon as we bring the baby home. It's also one of the cutest pack and plays I have ever seen. (Marcy is not happy that the baby is getting so many toys and she is getting nothing)

Our broken washer adventures continue. We have already called LG 4-5 times and after waiting a week and a half, we finally have someone coming to "look" at the washer tomorrow. We broke down and went to the laundromat out of desperation...$25 to wash our clothes and get them "damp". We didn't dry them all the way because our dryer still works and after $25, I didn't want to spend anymore...sheesh.

We had our birth center tour last weekend. It was the first time in awhile I felt kind of scared. Sitting in the labor room and hearing in detail how everything will happen did frighten me a bit. I usually just try not to think about going into labor. Every labor is so different so I know there is no way to prepare for it. Our baby could come tonight if she wanted to. So thinking about that day in detail makes me a tad nervous, but I also started getting really excited. Ryan said after we left, that when he was standing in the labor room he started to get a little choked up thinking about actually seeing his daughter for the first time. I know he is going to be the best daddy. On a side note, I am still terrified that Rilynn will turn into a boy before she is born. Ryan hates that I say this because he thinks that I am crazy. On another note, we start breastfeeding classes tonight and I am actually pretty excited!

Lastly, we had a huge crawfish boil at our friends house last weekend. She is 3 weeks more pregnant than me, so I am freaking out that she is almost full term!

They just came back from Disney and their daughter was obsessed with putting her Minnie & Mickey stuff on everyone. So here is Minnie Kaitlyn & Mickey Ryan....

Have the best week and I can't wait to see what updates I'll have for the next bumpdate!
