33 Week Bumpdate, Impatience & Questions!

Posted on the 14 August 2013 by Wifessionals @wifessionals
33 weeks. Only 7 or less to go. I am so impatient at this point. I feel really bad for my friends that are 37 or 38 weeks along because I know they must be really ready to meet their babies. I think I became 4,000 times more uncomfortable over the past 7 days. I now wake up with stomach cramps once an hour, every hour throughout the night. It's as if my stomach starts hurting from lying on one side too long. Then I also bolt awake when I figure out that I am laying on my back - no bueno. I posted this picture over the weekend when I realized it was only the second time I had worn this shirt.

The picture on the left was from 25 weeks and the right was nearly 33. I think I look much bigger in real life and I definitely feel bigger, but comparing the two pictures side by side, I haven't grown that much in 8 weeks, and for that I am grateful.
I have been sitting at a 22 pound weight gain for about 3 weeks now which is also nice...I jumped from 19-22 in one week which worried me, but like the rest of my pregnancy, I hang out at the new weight for a few weeks. Even if I gain 1 pound a week for the rest of the pregnancy I will still be somewhere between 30-35 pounds, which is the most I "should be" gaining to stay healthy.
Little Rilynn is a little over 4 pounds and is the size of a honeydew, or a ukulele if you are using my awesome Daddy Version Size Guide. She moves a lot and it is actually starting to get painful. The worst thing has been that I am getting cramps all the time. The doctor just keeps saying it is from the pressure she is putting on my lower stomach and uterus. On a good note, my doctor has NEVER delivered a baby that "switched genders". She said I better not be her first. That made me feel a lot less worried about Rilynn turning into a boy before her due date.
We were supposed to have our maternity photos done last Friday....

Instead we had a crazy storm. We have been getting a ton of rain and now there have been floods and mudslides all over the place. At least this should keep the wildfires away. So instead we went to the most delicious Greek restaurant and...

I finally got my IceDream cone! Our Chick-Fil-A closed so they could fix the drive thru. We did not know this and went three different times over two weeks, thinking it would be re-opened. Well, they finally did re-open and I got a pretty good cone from them. I hate it when they give you an inch of ice cream - I've even made comments to the drive thru person when I get shafted like that...

We cleaned the carpets one last time before the baby. I HATE carpet. It is so gross and disgusting to me. I vacuum all the time (even 3 times before we cleaned the carpets) and the water that comes up is black and filthy. I just always feel like it holds in so much dirt and germs. When we move, hard floors are non-negotiable.

Monday marked 50 days until Rilynn's due date. If that number isn't crazy enough, try 29 days until she would be full term. In preparation, I am starting to drink Red Raspberry Leaf Tea. I have read nothing but good things about it. It tones your uterus and thousands of women say that it shortened their labor and also the "bleeding time" after birth. It doesn't induce labor, but makes your labor much more efficient once your baby decides they want to come.

My questions to all you mamas out there:

"What week did your first baby come?"
"Were you natural or c-section?"
"Did you end up being induced?"

I really only want to know these answers from first time moms. I actually read this week that it isn't true that first time moms are more likely to go past their due date. The medical statistics show that 52-53% of first time moms have their babies by their due date. But if I am going by blogland, EVERY SINGLE ONE of the first time moms over the past two weeks have been overdue. So I wanted to hear what the consensus was among you.

Lastly, I was so honored to be nominated for the Top 50 Military Mom Blogs. Even though I am just pregnant, I was nominated based on the fact that my blog now includes a lot of baby and pregnancy information and because I will have my own little one soon. I didn't want to write up a whole post about that or just sit and pester you about voting, but if you have 5 seconds I would love for you to go vote for me! Click here to vote!
