337/365 Snuggle up for Some Christmas Traditions
Posted on the 04 December 2013 by Ellenarnison @Ellen27
They're doing a lovely thing at Boy Three's nursery. It's advent wishes.
Each child makes a Christmas wish for something they want to do. The wish is assigned a number, written on a star and tied to the tree.
Every day a child gets their wish. Boy Three wants to make some special decorations for the Christmas tree. It's a tradition everyone loves.
I used to think that at home we didn't have much truck with tradition, but, as the years go by, I realize that's not true. Many of our familiar festive things have become fabulously traditional.
There's the wonderful evening spent jamming awkwardly shaped items into socks.
The festive CDs that live in the decorations box and get played when we dress the tree.
There's the must-haves: chipolatas, two kinds of spuds, early morning gift examination, an over-stuffed late afternoon walk.
Of course new PJs, pants and socks are essential. We got them every Noël as kids, and now my children get them too.
This year Boy Three has some adorable Angus the Sheep PJs from Kiddiewow. He has taken to posing for photos in a very serious manner. "I can't smile or roar, mummy, this is too important."
Kiddiewow has some gorgeous things for kids if you want something slightly unusual and, mercifully, not garish with cartoon character faces.
Thanks to Cherie at Kiddiewow for Boy Three's cute nightwear.
