34 Week Bumpdate - Or Is It??

It's the 34 week bumpdate! Or is it?
I had my 34 week appointment on Monday and to my surprise, the doctor said I was measuring "big". I actually laughed out loud because I am really small compared to a lot of my pregnant friends, but I did tell her I thought my stomach exploded out this past week. With my long torso I guess I don't stick out as far, but for my height, my measurements are "big". So we will get an ultrasound at my 36 week appointment to see what's going on in there with the little bean. I would absolutely LOVE if they told me I looked ahead of schedule. That means by my 36 week appointment, maybe I'd be closer to 37?
My parents moved their flight a little earlier, so I would love if her due date also moved earlier by a few days. I don't really want to be sitting around the house for days with them just waiting...
So how is the bump looking these days?

There is officially a real pregnant belly bump there! Yes, I know you guys always comment that this gray tank top makes me look smaller than the other regular clothes bump pictures I post, but I have to keep doing these since that is what I started taking pictures in. Regardless, I look back on my 14 week picture and hope my body snaps back to that eventually!
So Rilynn is about 5 pounds, almost 18 inches long and is the size of a cantaloupe or butternut squash. She's been head down at the past two doctor appointments, which is good. I have honestly been feeling pretty terrible the last week. I have a friend who is 37 weeks and feels pretty normal except just being tired, so I don't know why I feel so bad. I have been really nauseous and barely feel like eating. Standing makes me feel sick, sitting makes me feel sick and forget about getting relief from laying down. I think I have been getting up 4-5 times at night to go to the bathroom, but I wake up almost every hour because I am so uncomfortable. My back pain has been really bad and I still have been having period like cramps. They said my blood pressure looks great, which normally would be the first thing they would be worried about with how bad I have been feeling. I guess this is just how my body handles the third trimester.

I sat down and created this Tassel Garland for the nursery. We really aren't decorating much because we are moving, but I wanted to put something up on the walls to bring in the colors that we plan to use once we get a new house. We will either leave the garland above the changing table or put it above her crib. I am also in the process of finishing up frames for a gallery wall, so that will go on whatever wall the garland isn't on.


Hallelujah our washer finally got fixed. It was broken for about 3 weeks and let me tell you, you don't appreciate a washer until you don't have one. I could live without our dishwasher or a few other appliances, but it is so inconvenient to not be able to do laundry! I've done about 5 loads and everything seems to be fine, so fingers crossed that we won't have any more issues.


We had our maternity shoot on Friday! I was so happy the weather was nice and I love our photographer. She should hopefully have the pictures to me this week and I can't wait to share them. I have no idea what is on my eyebrow and cheek - I guess something was on the mirror. I took this while we were waiting for pizza because I have no idea where this bump all of a sudden came from! Some clothes make me look bigger than others and this one definitely makes my stomach look huge! I am fluctuating around 24 pounds as far as my weight gain goes. I read this week that the placenta alone weighs about 1.5 pounds at birth. So the placenta plus the baby weighs as much as two handweights - no wonder my back hurts...


Here's a picture of "happy hour" this past Saturday...I am drinking iced red raspberry tea and Ryan is drinking Crown and coke. Ryan was all about "Oh I won't drink while you are pregnant so that we can not drink together..." - Ha, that didn't last more than a week. He always has an excuse like "Oh, the Giants game is on" or "You can't grill without drinking a beer" or my favorite, "I didn't drink for a year in Afghanistan so I know your pain."
I really don't care, but I always hear so many men say they aren't going to drink while their wives are pregnant and they never seem to stick to it lol.


Later Saturday night, Ryan took me on a date, which was very nice. I felt awful and barely wanted to get off the couch, but all my bloggy friends who just had babies keep saying "Go out even when you feel like crap!" It was so nice to get out of the house and have time to just talk over dinner with no other distractions.


Finally, thanks to all the moms who participated in my little "birth day project"! Going through all of the data was very interesting and I think encouraging to a lot of pregnant mamas. (check it out here) We've had a ton of moms going past their due dates the last two months, so maybe it's time for a bunch of moms to go into labor at 38-39 weeks?
