35 Week Bumpdate!

Posted on the 27 August 2013 by Wifessionals @wifessionals
Five weeks to go. 35 days until her due date. 14 days until she is full term. It will be weird next week to say. "Yep, I am 9 months pregnant." Did the nine months pass quickly? I think so. I can't believe that I have been pregnant the majority of a year!

I am definitely ready to not be pregnant anymore. Ryan and I are so excited for our little girl to come so we can finally see her and meet her. I told another blogger that my baby has become quite "rude" over the past week. She is really jabbing me and moving extremely forcefully. Ryan says it looks like she's trying to break out of my stomach.

Last week I got to finally meet Amy! We met for dinner and it was so fun to have a little blate. Skinny pants combined with a black shirt definitely minimizes things, but I realized this past week that I feel so blessed that I stayed on the smaller side this pregnancy. I have been in a ton of pain this past week and I think it would have been 1,000 times worse if I was bigger.

Rilynn is between 17 and 18 inches. She won't get much longer between now and when she is born. She's about 5 pounds and the size of a coconut. My weight jumped up again this week. I'm not too concerned about it, but it's now at about 27 pounds. I've been eating the same and walking every day, so I know the added weight is my body adjusting to whatever it needs for the baby.

So I'm going to be real with what has been going on the past week. Mainly because I want to know timeframes for things when it comes to my pregnancies in the future. I have been absolutely miserable this week. I talk to friends who are farther along than me and their only complaint is that they are tired or impatient. I'm jealous.

This week I have been having painful cramps - like bad period cramps. They aren't consistent, but when they are present, they hurt a lot. After trying to look this up online, I'm thinking they may be real contractions? I now also can recognize Braxton Hicks. Besides the cramps I have had multiple cases of loose stools (aka diarrhea - sorry for the TMI). Some people will tell you this is an early sign of labor and some (like my doctor) will say it's completely normal. On top of that, my pelvic area and crotch hurts so incredibly bad. It's so hard to even walk. I told Ryan the best way to describe it is that it feels like I got hit in the crotch with a 2x4 or it's like I rode a bike for 60 hours straight.

The pain has been so bad some nights that I've contemplated going to the hospital, but I always talk myself out of it and say I'll just wait to see how I feel in the morning. My next appointment is next Wednesday and then I will be happy to have weekly appointments after that. I am really curious to see if the baby has dropped or I am dilated at all considering how my body has been feeling.

I used my time at the end of the week to finally sit down and finish up the prints and frames for the gallery wall in the nursery. I found all of these frames for $.98-$2.00 at Walmart. I just spray painted them white and no one could ever tell they were black to begin with. I created all of the prints in Photoshop and used my Silhouette to do her name. Costco printed the two big prints (empty frames) for only $2 something, so this project ended up being very inexpensive! Our goal is to get them up on the wall this weekend and the nursery will officially be finished.

I also spent Saturday morning setting up our webcam. I was blessed to get to work with SafeToSleep who gave us one of their amazing monitors for the baby. Since it eliminates the need for a video monitor, the only reason you really need one is for curiosity or your own peace of mind. The company told me they recommend regular webcams if you still want to "see" the baby. So we bought one - and it is awesome! It has two way audio so we can hear, but also talk through the camera. This came in handy as we were spying on Marcy the other night. She decided to go take a dish towel and try to destroy it - Ryan yelled at her and she put it down.

The coolest thing is that we can access it from any iPhone, iPad or computer when we are away from the house.

On Sunday, Ryan had made reservations to take me to brunch at the Broadmoor. I have been wanting to go since we moved and it was so amazing. The food was delicious and you feel like you are in a whole other time era when you are there. The grounds are beautiful and we walked around for a little while after we ate.

Mmmmmm pregnancy feet. These are actually about half the size of what I have seen them be. When they swell they get all tingly and almost numb. I was actually just sitting before I took this picture and they still were swollen! I can't imagine the pregnant mamas who are on their feet all day and how they do it!
