38 Weeks: Getting Braxton Hicks!

Posted on the 04 April 2013 by Alex_bumptobaby @bumptobaby_blog

How far along?: 38 Weeks.. 3 Days. Oh SO close now!
Maternity clothes: Nothing new - squeezing myself into my pre-pregnancy baggy clothes still!
Stretch marks: Yep... My stretch marks aren't that bad but noticeable yes. I use Palmers stretch mark lotion but to be honest I think if you're going to get them then you're going to get them! You can see some of them in the photos below, I think the ones on my sides look like zips haha. Also I'm confused about my belly button stretch marks because this started as a sort of bruising where I took my belly piercing out so I don't know how much of it is stretch mark.
Sleep: Sleep's fine. Now I'm on Maternity Leave I'm sleeping in a lot longer in the mornings and I am definitely not as exhausted as I have been which feels fantastic! I wake up during the night a lot for the toilet but I'm use to it now.

Best moment this week: Starting to feel Braxton Hicks, yes this is an odd 'best moment of the week' to have, but though it's rather painful at times it's nice to know that my body is gearing up for D-day.
Miss anything?: Not having bruised ribs! ;)38 Weeks: Getting Braxton Hicks!

Movement: You haven't had as many hiccups this week. Your movements are so strong now and it's noticeable to me that you're definitely running out of room even though you are still one very active little boy! Your feet are like still very much like magnets to my now very sore and very bruised ribs {on the right side}. Daddy and I can see very clearly big bumps underneath my skin which we are told are your feet and your bum!
Food cravings: No cravings.Anything making you queasy or sick? No.Gender: BOY!<3Labour signs: No more signs of a 'show' but lots of Braxton Hicks since Tuesday. {Consultant confirmed this because she could feel them}.

Symptoms: Braxton Hicks, stomach cramps, lightening crotch, some nesting but I can't tell if this because of end-of-pregnancy or just my OCD haha ;), lower and upper {Hello Scoliosis} back pain. SORE RIBS!

Belly button in or out? Out.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy! It's feeling quite unreal to me that you are due in a week and a half and that your Dad and I will become 'parents' and be a family of three with you - our first child!! And also the fear I have had had of childbirth for so long I will be coming face to face with any day now... Scared.com!

Looking forward to: Daddy and I becoming your Mum and Dad and seeing you for the first time. I am most excited about Daddy holding you and me seeing you in his arms and on his chest. Aww!! :')Also This week: I have eaten way too much chocolate for Easter! And I've been completely overwhelmed by the kindness and the generosity of family/friends who have given me cards and presents for you already. My mom {your Nanna E} came over yesterday with my sister {Auntie Louise} and cooked Daddy and I dinner to give him a night off of cooking, which was so lovely of her to do for us - we had a Quorn curry and it was gorgeous! Last Sunday {Easter Sunday} we went to your Grandpops and Grandmas for dinner and had a veggie roast which was also very yummy! I feel like I definitely started my Maternity Leave at the right time, I'm really enjoying having a little time to myself to relax and prepare emotionally and physically for you. Oh and I started playing WoW again with Daddy and Uncle Josh, {probably not the best time to go back to playing such an addictive and time consuming game, but it's passing the time rather quickly for now}.Oh P.S.

Daddy is getting very very very impatient and wants you to hurry up now! I have told him you'll be here in your own time but he's having none of it. ;)
