Truth be told I am not blogging today on my birthday - it's all an illusion! I am writing this today, which is a week in advance. Yes, that is the absolute most prepared I have ever been EVER! I just really wanted to particpate in this link up with Justyn and I can't blog about all my birthday fun until it's over, because then I'll have a full collection of events that went down this weekend! Do you guys remember my blogging buddy, Justyn Lord? She write a blog called, Thoughts by a Petite Brunette. She is absolutely one of the cutest bloggers on the face of the earth. I like her a lot. I asked if you remembered her because back in the day... seriously like 7 - 10 months ago we used to do monthly vlogs. There were about 6 of us and it was some of the most blogging fun that I've had.

Well Justyn started this fab link-up called "5 Things Friday". She asked me to co-host today and here's her quote to describe what this is all about.

5 THINGS I LOVE ABOUT MY BIRTHDAY!!
1. The Love!
All of the love you get. Facebook is like the most loving platform ever, it reminds everyone that it's your birthday. Forgetful family members, high school friends, coworkers... everyone is reminded! That's the ultimate reason I also love Facebook! Also throughout the day you get texts and well wishes. It's just a lovely time in ones life.
2. Gatherings.
I love having a purpose for everyone to gather. There's family gatherings, parties, lunches and so many fun things. Plus people are more likely to commit when it's a birthday celebration, I mean after all it is celebrated MY BIRTH! Without me this world could be a different place.
3. Surprises!
I make it very known that it's my birthday well in advance and usually make sure the week of my birthday there is some kind of count down going on. This way I ensure that people will remember my birth anniversary and even if it's not a "WOW! I'm surprised!!" moment, it is a way to make sure you're not let down. Then you'll wake up to a decorated house and you can sit down to a nice dinner that's unexpectedly expected!
4. Waking Up!
It's so FUN to wake up on a day that you get specialized attention. It's like the one day a year that I look forward to waking up. I am turning 23 and still have a hard time sleeping the night of my birthday because I get so excited! A lot of that has to do with my awesome husband, Jared. He makes waking up on my birthday so incredibly exciting! Not only that but I know that today I get to do lunch with friends, celebrate with co-workers, shop with J, and we have dinner plans. That makes me excited for the day! Excited to wake up and live the day!
5. Staying Happy.
It's so impossible to be down on my birthday. I love looking at the past year and seeing how a year isn't that long of a time, but how much I've grown and improved. Sometimes you look back and realize that you had a really shitty year, but you made it through with a smile and made some fabulous memories along the way. That's what life is all about.. staying happy!
