5 Signs That Your Windows Need To Be Replaced
Home improvements can be, let's face it, a bit of a pain!
When repairs are needed they will often crop up at inopportune moments when neither the time and money involved are easy to come by, which can lead to many of us putting them off until it's completely necessary. But how do we know just when that is?
Knowing when the time is right can be tricky for many areas of the home, and particularly when it comes to replacing windows.
Here are the top 5 ways that you'll know when your windows need to be replaced.
1)  Feeling A Draft
If you feel a breeze coming from the window area even when the windows are closed, then this can indicate faulty seals, or poor installation.
Drafts in the home can cause lots of problems, not least of which being the effect on the temperature and - in turn - your household heating bill!
2) Hearing Too Much Outside Noise
Particularly if this is something that has worsened. Again, this can be a sign of faulty seals or poor installation - and could be improved dramatically with new windows. Especially if upgrading to double glazing -  this sash double glazed window would make a great choice.
3) Chipped, Flaking or Soft Frames
This can indicate rot and water damage, and could lead to sagging. If your window frames are soft to the touch, they are most likely beyond repair.
4) Difficulty Closing Or Locking Windows
This can be as a result of rust or rotting over time, or it can also indicate that the windows were incorrectly installed as this can lead to balance issues. Windows that don't close properly or allow you to lock them are, of course, compromising the safety of your home and will need to be replaced.

5) Condensation Build Up Between Layers Of Glass
If you notice a build up of condensation or a frosted appearance between layers of the glass in your windows, this means that the seals have failed and are allowing moisture between the layers. Once this happens, your windows will be far less efficient.
So now you know whether your windows are showing signs that they need to be replaced, but did you know that there are also some perks to replacing the windows in your home?
Here are 3 good reasons to stop putting it off and replace those windows sooner rather than later.
1) Increased Home Value
New, efficient windows are likely to add to the resale value of your home as well as increasing what's known as "curb appeal" - meaning you can choose beautiful, impressive looking windows to add to the overall aesthetic of your home and pull in potential buyers!
The Rose Collection offers a particularly stunning range to choose from.
2) It Could Save You Money
New windows could make a huge difference to the energy efficiency in your home, meaning that you could save a substantial amount on heating and cooling bills going forwards.
3) Increased Comfort & Security
At the end of the day, your home is your castle - it's where you likely spend the majority of your time and the place you most need to feel comfortable and relaxed. So windows that keep the cold weather and outside noise firmly on the outside, and protect you from intruders are well worth investing in.
