1. Pictures ledges to store books
I know I've said about this is a few times before, but it's absolutely one of my favorite storage solutions - ever! Before I used pictures ledges to store the boys' books, I was forever trying to find a solution that didn't look too messy as it just felt like we were overflowing books. Since I've used the picture ledges to store them, it has really freed up so much space, plus I really like the way it looks and the fact that we're using wall space that we otherwise wouldn't have been using. Our picture ledges are from IKEA.
2. LEGO storage blocks
If you're little one/s are in to LEGO, the LEGO storage blocks are such a great way to store all of their little bricks, plus they look fantastic and come with a lid!
3. Using folders or document boxes to storage kids artwork/drawings
I am currently using a document box to store all of my eldest Son's drawings and art work in that he does at home and at school. It won't last me forever, but it really does hold quite a lot and it can be sectioned off too in to different categories like 'home' or 'pre-school' and 'reception year'. I think the trick is finding one that you like the look of too, so that it blends nicely in to the room's decor. We have this one (below) on a shelf above Ethan's bed and we really like how it looks there.
4. Kids under bed storage
We have under bed storage in both of our children's rooms and we use it for storing things like their spare bedding, blankets, swimming items and other things like that. Having under bed storage is so useful and our plans are to purchase a kids mid sleeper bed for each of the boys as they get older. I just love how much storage they provide, especially so for rooms that aren't really that big.
5. In drawer organisers and boxes
In-drawer organisers are amazing. especially for children's clothes! We've used them since our boys were born. If you've got things like baby vests and baby grows and then their little trousers and tops then they'll be so tiny in a large drawer. Having in-drawer boxes that help organize them will mean that the drawer will stay neater for longer. We currently use them for things like the boy's socks. Even if you just use one in the middle (as below), it separates the drawer meaning you can add in other small items (like vests) and also still have space for storing odd socks etc.
I hope that you've enjoyed reading through my kids storage ideas, I'd love to hear some of your tips and tricks so please do let me know about them in the comment section below.
