Adam Lister is a talented artist, born in 1978, in Fairfax, Virginia. Lister received his BFA in Fine Arts from School of Visual Arts in New York. American painter creates engaging visual compositions that depict famous artworks and pop-culture characters. Adam inspired by his love for 8-bit graphics found in old Nintendo and Atari video games. He likes to use the principle of pixelated images as a guideline for his works. Adam's works provoke the sense of bittersweet nostalgia, as our favorite childhood characters, the artworks we learned about in school and video games are all fused together.
"It's like tearing apart a Lego model and rebuilding it with fewer pieces", explains Lister. His "reductionist" approach to painting follows a series of practical rules, first of which is the use of a simple pencil: creating a clear-cut drawing that divides the various shapes into big blocks.
