A Day in the Life, #867

Having a day off is a joke, because in my world, having a day off is never really having a day off.

Yesterday was really the first day of my winter break…potentially the last winter break I will ever have since I will have a full time job beginning in January that does not shut down during the winter holidays.  You would have thought that I’d veg around in my jammies for a good part of the day, but no!  I feel like giving you a glimpse of what a day off looks life in the life of the Tucson Songtress.  Perhaps you all will think I’m nuts, and perhaps you all relate big time.

6:30 am – Wake up, feed pets, make breakfast for the kids.  Typically I wake up at 5:30 on a work day, so I did actually sleep an hour later.

7:15 am – Wake up kids, feed them, get them dressed and get them out the door by 7:50 with the husband.

8:00 am – Blogging and emails

9:00 am – Read my book (This is pretty indulgent for a morning off!)

9:45 am – Shower and getting dressed

10:45 am – Off to my children’s school for holiday songleading…a volunteer job as part of their last day before winter break celebrations

11:45 am – Errands, lunch, and shopping

1:30 pm – Returned home and worked on holiday cards.

4:30 pm – Dropped the holiday cards off at the post office.  (Yay..finally got them out!)

5:30 pm – Read more of the book…yay for good books!

6:30 pm – worked on cleaning the house (Family was at grocery store picking up dinner) -Also made cauliflower mashed potatoes as my lo-carb dinner side dish

7:15 pm – Dinner with family

8:15 pm – Clean up dinner

9:00 pm – Snuggled in bed with my family as they watched movies and I read more of the good book.

????? – I’m not sure when I fell asleep.  Busy days always result in nodding off quickly.  I know I fell asleep before the rest of my family did though.

It kind of blows me away that this is the relaxed schedule.  I wonder what others would do if they had a day off.  Is being busy just a sign of my age and getting older or is it a sign of my lifestyle?  Hmmmmmm……..just so curious about this one.

Anyhow….if I’m going to give you a day in the life of the Tucson Songstress, then you better believe I’m going to set it to the music of the Beatles.  Their “A Day in the Life” must be one of their top and best written songs.  Click HERE to hear it and feel free to share your day in the life.  This inquiring mind wants to know!
